Product description

In the lowering bin the lumber is sorted according to, for example, dimensions, quality and length. A bin section consists of a number of bins matched to the different sorts the lumber is to be sorted into. When emptying the lumber bundle is lowered down onto an underlying chain conveyor for transportation onwards to a stacker.

  • Sink bins with SoftBin ensure careful handling of the lumber.
  • Sink bins with flap sorting ensure a high capacity.
  • Sink bins with hook sorting is a cost-efficient solution
  • Robust construction with conical divergent bins
  • Stable and careful in-feed to the sink bins thanks to the design of the sink bin intakes and flaps.

Function description

The lumber pieces are sorted into different bins with the help of an overlying sorting conveyor. A bottom hatch receives the timber pieces, and is lowered at the same rate as the bin is filled. The bins are angled at around 20° and are conically divergent to minimise the timber bundles getting wedged stuck. When the bin is full, it is emptied by lowering the bottom hatch to the level of the underlying chain conveyor, with the timber bundles falling out ready for further transportation.
Option SoftBin: To prevent the timber bundle uncontrollably falling out of the bin during emptying, flaps are dropped down fore and aft of the bottom hatch. The bottom hatch is lowered down under the underlying chain conveyor, the forward flap opens, and the timber bundle can be transported away. This function also implies that the bottom hatch is lower and can be raised higher up in the bin, protecting the first timber pieces when refilling the bins. The controlled emptying process gives more orderly timber bundles towards the elevator section, which counteract stoppage in the elevator section.
