Renholmen,Vasa – A Family Enterprise
Nyheter
Service technician Timo Lieskoski and electrical engineer Olliver Klemets work in Renholmen’s Vaasa office. Timo is Oliver’s father, and they naturally see each other a lot in their spare time.
– The fact that we know each other well is an advantage at work, it makes for quick decisions, says Timo.

Timo started at Renholmen four years ago, having previously worked as a mechanic at a company that builds ship engines.
– Renholmen is in a different industry, but in my job there are similarities between sawmills and ships. They are both large structures and large machines. Another similarity is that I travelled a lot as a ship’s mechanic and I still travel a lot today, he says.
Freedom to organize my days
Olliver joined Renholmen in September 2024 and most recently came from Novia University in Vaasa, Finland, where he studied electrical engineering and automation for four years. Prior to his studies, he worked as a travelling electrician, mainly in Norway, building shopping centers and tunnels.
– In Vaasa we are responsible for managing our own office, but we also have good support and a close dialogue with Renholmen in Byske. In my case, it is all about frequent communication with automation manager Erik Nestrell,” he says.
Timo and Olliver believe that Renholmen’s corporate culture is different from that of other Finnish companies – in a positive way.
– Renholmen is like a family, everyone cares about each other, says Olliver.
– In Finland there is more hustle and bustle, you are more like a pawn in a game, says Timo.
There is definitely a market both for modernizing sawmills with Renholmen's solutions and for maintaining the technology that Renholmen has already installed
A growing office
In addition to their professional skills, Timo and Olliver are important to Renholmen because they speak Finnish.
– If cases and business opportunities arise when we talk to Finnish customers, we can pass them on to Byske, says Olliver.
Timo’s agenda is full. Olliver knows he has a job for at least the next two years. Both believe that the Vaasa office has great potential for growth in the near future.
– There is definitely a market both for modernizing sawmills with Renholmen’s solutions and for maintaining the technology that Renholmen has already installed, says Timo.
