Flexicut

The laterally variable-setting cutting unit, FlexiCut, is used when a piece of timber is to be free-cut within a module. The cutting unit positions itself within the module between each piece of timber. Renholmen’s FlexiCut is at the forefront of developments as regards flexible cutting.

The machine has an overlying cutting unit. The cutting blade is positioned laterally in its uppermost position via a linear unit. The timber is cut during the downward movement, which saves time and reduces the cutting speed compared to a stationary blade. The raising/lowering movement is controlled by a slave motor for the chain conveyor via an eccentric mechanism. The timber piece is held down by a holder to ensure optimum cutting conditions. Offcuts are removed via an underlying belt conveyor. A vacuum sawdust duct is located directly in front of the blade’s airstream, and effectively takes sawdust and dust up to an extraction connection. The upper housing of the cutting unit is dust-tight, sound-insulated and has an electrically interlocked service hatch. At the highest capacity levels two FlexiCuts are placed behind each other and they cut every other timber piece.
